Note: The pull of Right vs Left Politics is still so strong, at least here in the USA, that I feel the need to state at the outset that my motivation here is not to score any points for the Right. This painting – Don Quixote de la Left – is a picture of the Woke Left. A few months ago I painted a similarly unflattering and honest portrait of the Christian Right. The intent of these paintings is to serve as open windows presenting clear views of dissenting perspectives. Critically portraying both wings of the ruling class, makes it evident, I hope, that these works are not part of the Right/Left trap.
Early this year, lines of heavy trucks rumbled across Canada’s frozen north and converged on Ottawa to protest vaccine mandates for cross-border truckers. The protest swelled in number, expanding in scope to a protest against the Medical Police State in general.
The Ottawa Freedom Convoy was sufficiently monumental that even the mainstream “news” was eventually forced to acknowledge its existence whereupon they began slandering it. This coverage did not last long: the current thing changed, the Ukraine War was brought to the front of the world stage, and most everything else was shoved off the stage.
I’m revisiting the Freedom Convoy. I wish to spark additional conversation about it. So I created this artwork. I intend it as a tribute befitting the valorous deeds of the . . . counter protesters and Canadian police; I’ll immortalize their symbiotic relationship. Like the knights of old, the counter protesters and police sallied forth to subdue the rabble of unruly peasants, putting them back in their proper place firmly under the thumb of the authorities.
The slander against the Freedom Convoy was not particularly sophisticated; it amounted to ignoring that the protest was obviously a protest against the Medical Police State, and instead making up stories about it being a vaguely racist/fascist/Nazi event where the racist/fascist/Nazis inadvertently brought anti-vax signs and forgot the racist/fascist/Nazi signs that they were supposed to bring.
The logic goes like this:
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is definitely a racist/fascist/Nazi.
If they look like, act like, and sound like, people protesting the Medical Police State, then they must really be racist/fascist/Nazis disguised as freedom advocates.
Any evidence that supported the racist/fascist/Nazi narrative was widely trumpeted, and any evidence that contradicted this narrative was discounted – if it was acknowledged at all.
For example: The Nazi flag guy at the Ottawa Trucker Protest, whoever he was, fits the Establishment Narrative, so he represents the Freedom Convoy. However, Sikhs at the Freedom Convoy, some of whom brought the Sikh flag, were an inconvenient reality that directly contradicted the Establishment Narrative. So according to those who wish to see the Freedom Convoy in a negative light, the Sikh protesters do not represent the Freedom Convoy. Apparently the Sikh protesters do not represent anything at all; they are just “a Token.”

How does Candice Sero, an Indigenous woman at the protest who was trampled by the RCMP, fit the narrative? . . . Well let’s just pretend that didn’t happen; ignore her, ignore tens of thousands of other protesters, ignore why they were there, and what they were about, and let’s get back to focusing on that Nazi Flag Guy.
As a counter protester helpfully explained:
“I tried really hard to de-emphasize issues of vaccination/COVID restrictions that were being used, in my mind, as cynical ‘wedge’ issues, and to emphasize opposing the convoy as a political vehicle of the far-right,”
This determination to see the Freedom Convoy as a racist/fascist/Nazi event, reality be damned, reminded me of the Ingenious Knight Don Quixote de la Mancha. I built my painting around that famous knight, because tilting at windmills was the principal activity of the Counter Protesters and Police who suppressed the Freedom Convoy. I present – Don Quixote . . . de la Left!

Your skill as both an artist and a writer makes you uncommonly bilingual. For the past several years I’ve had an image in my head of a rainbow-colored jackboot with “they/them” stamped on the soul as it descends towards a neck, and I wish I had the talent to paint it. Let’s see that was a long laundry list.
No, people died so that the Nuremberg could happen. Biden or Joe Stolen is trying to downplay if not completely ignore it. However, it’s there. Yes the masters did go the US and hibernation, the ones who in the ones in the military-industrial complex I was later to know. Today we call them the deep state. Yes, the Freedom Convoy was incredibly naive and I told them that, I guess their egos and success at the time over rode it. They had to change the system or nothing would change. You just hit the nail on the head, if you want to win, NEVER ask permission, just do whatever. It was an interesting few weeks.
The covid psyop is over. I know some may still worry about it. It’s just the flu in a more virulent form. The vax never worked, it wasn’t supposed to. Obama and Gates had patents on it in 2015. I’d love to agree that it’s “nuke paranoia,” but Putin does not bluff. The rest yes. There will be many false flags and black swan event attempts such as Mar A Lago, we just have to be vigilant and see through them.

Let me begin with I agree with all that you’ve said. As I said way back then, if only railing against the mandates was there Freedom Convoy’s mission, they failed for two reasons I thought of off the bat. First, mandates are against the Nuremberg Code so that really was already taken care of. An illegitimate tyrannical ruler refused to go by what was written in the blood of thousands of dead soldiers. Secondly, and my biggest problem with them, they didn’t go far enough. They would have to change the entire system. Could they? Unfortunately, no. They had England and other countries including parts of the US working against them.
We have our own tyrannical, illegitimate, sock puppet. Do we have a Freedom Convoy? I don’t know. I do know a part of my plan puts together a force that they can’t match.

You do realize the “Neurenberg code” is complete bullshit right? Ofcourse man made laws are just makebelive anyway, but the Neuremberg code is simply “reccomandations” not any sort of “law” furthermore the trial at Neuremberg was a complete shitshow, a play where they sentenced the low hanging fruit. The master-violaters were ofcourse imported to the US instead and began working for the military industrial complex. The freedom convoy itself, altough I supported it wholeheartedly was always super naive, it sent a powerfull message and uncovered the systems brutality for many, but it was always “asking for premission”, “please dear regent,may I have bodily autonomy”,it also set the precedent for an army of shills and grifters with their own army of “freedom idols” doing the systems bidding and wasting your time as they sell people trinkets and merch. The so called “freedom movement” as we called it is now dead, it’s been eaten by it’s own naivety and right wing idpol , the people within it did not want autonomy, they just wanted another form of statist rule or possibly a king. The covid psyop is also only part, it’s time to stop only talking about injections and what was in 2021, and see the playing field for what it is, restructured with the same old tricks, inflation, “nuke paranoia” and forever wars, with the same old biometric id and social credit boner poking us in the ass while system deceivers whisper sweet nothings in our ear about vaccines and “freedom” things on repeat that we allready knew, the sweet embrace of limited hangout sealing the deal while they have their system lackeys trying to copulate with our soul. 2020 was the year of encroaching fear and paranoia,2021 was the year of activation whilst 2022 is the year of the shill!
