Liberté! Résistance! A photo-report from France

Emergency demonstrations were held in towns and cities across France on Wednesday July 14, 2021, as the state went full-fascist in imposing bio-security dictatorship.

In a televised address on Monday evening President Emmanuel Macron announced that “vaccination” was to be compulsory for all health workers and that, furthermore, “vaccine passports” were to be required for everyday access to public spaces ranging from cafés and restaurants to trains and buses.

While some French people were panicked into signing up for the jab so that they could continue with their usual lives and summer holidays, others reacted angrily and quickly organised protests on the public holiday marking the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution of 1789.

In the Mediterranean city of Montpellier, large numbers gathered in the central Place de la Comédie and marched through the city streets.

There was a visible Gilets Jaunes contingent, but many described themselves as first-time protesters. Health workers, including a doctor, addressed the crowd. One carried a placard (above) declaring: “Sack me, lock me up, I will remain free in my choices”.

Liberté!” declared the chants. “Résistance!” “Non au pass sanitaire!” “We aren’t scared!” the rebels shouted defiantly and they certainly now knew they were not alone.

Applauded from shop doorways and balconies, they urged onlookers to join them as they made their way to the Préfecture, the city’s government building, and encircled it, setting off fireworks.

By the time the march descended on the main railway station, it was bigger than ever.

Dozens of protesters rushed into the station concourse and there were scuffles with police inside before the demo moved off again into the narrow mediaeval streets.

More protests across the country are planned for Saturday. While the response to the Covid coup in France had up until now been relatively muted, the authorities could well have now pushed things too far.

“A state lie against citizens’ freedom. Everyone on the streets!”
“For your security you are deprived of your liberties”

  1. At least the French have a good tradition of fighting back. Sorry to say that we Brits (English, Scots and Welsh) alike don’t as we have never had a revolution, discounting the ‘glorious’ one which was Parliament importing a new monarch from the continent. The only glimmer of hope for us now is that is becoming more widely recognised that those who are double-vaxxed are themselves becoming infected, which should invalidate the insurance of any venue, transport provider or other business that requires proof.

      1. Then we ended up with a Puritan Commonwealth followed by a restoration of the monarchy. Arguably our revolution took place in North America. But back to the present, you can see that in France there are demonstrations in many ‘provincial’ cities. In Britain there were a small number of these last year but not that many and focused on a limited number of major cities, Manchester, Birmingham and Nottingham for example. In each case it was top-down organisation when it needs to be local grassroots. Liverpool, Sheffield, Leicester, Coventry and numerous other similarly sized population centres were ignored. Leicester would be an excellent place, as not only was it the first in England to have its own specific city-wide lockdown last year, it is also the historic home on the anti-vaccination movement (something that would be worth covering on this blog). Oxford, although not a major city by population, would also be a good place for a demonstration against ‘vaccination passports’ as it is where the Astra Zeneca team is based at the Jenner Institute.

    1. Well now, don’t fret. Just because you never had a revolution, doesn’t mean you can’t have one now. And can you think of a better cause or time? Theres a first time for everyone and now its your turn. I mean look at the times! You want life as we know it to end without you guys having had a revolution? Perish the thought! The world awaits your reaction with baited breath.

    1. Pretty sure most of the European self appointed “World Leaders” are, but we didnt elect them to lead the world but only our small part of it.
If we are going to have world leaders they have to be far more intelligent than our politicians and as far removed from vested interest as its possible to get.
Having vast amounts of money usually rots integrity from the inside, and is no guarantee of possession of leadership skills
