1. Refusing to play their game

What happens when one small clique of people has accumulated enough money to buy pretty much everything and everyone?

The scenario will be a familiar one for anyone who has played Monopoly, the board game originally invented to warn against exactly this outcome.

As soon as one player has succeeded in placing hotels on several of the more lucrative districts, none of the other players stands a chance.

Every move they make lands them in more trouble, owing huge amounts of money to the dominant party.

There is no way out. It is inevitable that they will eventually lose all the wealth they have managed to gather thus far and will end up with nothing.

That is what we are up against in real life. When a group of ruthless sociopaths have all the power that money can buy, they don’t even have to pretend to be “democratic” any more.

But we should never forget that we don’t have to remain trapped within reality as they present it to us.

Their money, created out of thin air, is not real. It is just a symbol. You cannot eat it or shelter within it. It only has meaning because we all go along with the illusion of its reality.

Their propaganda, paid for by their illusory money, has no power if we stop paying attention to it. It is just words and images which we could all simply ignore.

Even the physical force which their money provides is not what it seems. It relies on our fear and our belief that we are powerless against it.

This is simply not true. Remember what happened in the UK in 2011 when riots took place simultaneously in several cities at once? The police could not cope.

Three years ago, at the start of the Gilets Jaunes revolt in France, the authorities seriously feared that the citadels of power in Paris would be overwhelmed by the mob.

They are frightened of us, our numbers and our potential strength, which is why they go to such extraordinary lengths to keep us down.

They are frightened that one day we will stop complying, that we will declare that we have had enough, that we no longer accept their monopoly over our lives.

They are frightened that we will stand up, overturn the board and have no more to do with their game of greed and power.

2. The heart-warming flames of revolt

Starting a camp fire can be a tricky affair, which often involves a frustrating sequence of failures, in which a promising flame quickly peters out and dies.

But when the fire finally gets going, it takes on a roaring all-consuming life of its own and there is no stopping it!

There have, likewise, been a number of false starts in the worldwide revolt against the Great Reset, in which encouraging outbreaks of freedom have failed to ignite an immediate general uprising.

There were those early massive marches in London, for instance, the loud Italian calls for libertà in the autumn of 2020, the enormous wave of protests against vaccine passports which spread across France this year.

But, somehow, thanks to state oppression and obstinacy, backed by media blackouts and smears, things have never gone further. A crucial tipping point has not been reached.

Could we now be reaching that point?

Dissident columnist C.J. Hopkins certainly thinks so. He writes: “They are facing a growing working-class revolt. Millions of people in countries all over the world are protesting in the streets, organizing strikes, walk-outs, ‘sick-outs’, and mounting other forms of opposition.

“Despite the corporate media’s Orwellian attempts to blackout any coverage of it, or demonize us all as ‘far-right extremists’, the New Normals are very aware that this is happening. And the official narrative is finally falling apart”.

Italian professor Alessandro Meluzzi also believes that the acceleration of repression launched by the ruling clique has produced “a counter reaction of unimaginable proportions”, “a quantum leap of consciousness” which is “probably unstoppable”.

This autumn’s mass resistance against vaccine passports in Trieste, and elsewhere in Italy,  certainly upped the temperature.

In the last week there has been a significant uprising in Guadeloupe, a Caribbean colony legally considered part of France.

A general unlimited strike has been declared against vaccine passports and living conditions in general, with blazing roadblocks all over the territory.

The reaction of the Macron regime has, inevitably, not been to listen to people’s concerns but to dispatch specialist police units.

The fact that these violent defenders of the system are thousands of miles away, may open up a window of rebellious opportunity back in France…

In Rotterdam, Netherlands, angry protests against vaccine passports broke out on the night of Friday November 19, with football supporters taking part.

A police car was torched and cops resorted to using live ammunition to shoot at the protesters, indicating that a certain mood of panic may be in the air for the oppressors.

On Saturday November 20, revolt flared up in the Dutch capital, The Hague, where surveillance cameras were pulled down and smashed by a jubilant crowd.

On Sunday unrest spread to Leeuwarden, Groningen and Enschede. 

The same day a vast crowd assembled across the border in Brussels, Belgium, and so-called “violence” occurred as people stood up to the local hired enforcers of brutal global authoritarianism.

The  weekend saw a remarkable and unprecedented show of opposition to the Great Reset tyranny, in countless countries across the world.

There were particularly impressive turn-outs in Australia, where more than mere “thousands” took to the streets. Reports suggest that there were 500,000 or more in Melbourne, which has endured the worst levels of repression, at least 300,000 in Sydney, 250,000 or more in Perth, 150,000 in Brisbane, 100,000 in Adelaide and 30,000 in Cairns.

Huge numbers also took to the streets in the UK, in London, Manchester, Leeds, Totnes, Glasgow, Belfast…

Austria is currently facing some of the world’s worst pharmafascism, with lockdowns for the unvaccinated and talk of forced vaccinations.

Solidarity protests were staged outside Austrian embassies in several cities, including London and Paris, and there were massive protests in Vienna (with some spirited resistance) and Innsbruck.

The calls for freedom rang out across Europe, in Hamburg and Stuttgart, in Amsterdam and Breda, in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki.

In Switzerland, home of Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum, they were protesting in Lausanne and Delemont, in Zurich and Aarau.

There was a mighty turn-out in Zagreb, Croatia, (pictured below) and big crowds in Budapest, Hungary; Vilnius, Lithuania and Tbilisi, Georgia.

In France the freedom theme merged nicely with celebrations of the third anniversary of the Gilets Jaunes revolt, which has taken on a new lease of life with resistance to Covid authoritarianism.

There was a big and determined march in Paris, attacked by those of Macron’s hired thugs who haven’t yet been sent out to suppress insurrection in the colonies.

Protests against vaccine passports happen every week across France and November 20 saw impressive turn-outs in Toulouse, Lyons, Montpellier, Marseilles, Nîmes, St Nazaire, La Rochelle, Angoulême, Aix-en-Provence, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, Nice, Périgueux…

In Italy, too, there were protests pretty much everywhere.

Rome, in particular, witnessed incredible scenes which give real hope that the light of the human spirit can defeat the forces of darkness.

Demonstrations were also held in Genoa, Venice, Bologna, Milan, Udine, Padua, Turin and Parma, amongst other places.

There were outbreaks of unauthorised dissent in Cape Town, South Africa, Nelson, New Zealand, Hamamatsu, Japan, and Taipei, Taiwan.

In North America, they came out to express their hatred of dictatorship in New York, Washington, DC, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver.

Protesters demanded their freedom in Israel and Kuwait, in Panama and Brazil.

The global technocrat-tyrants are succeeding in uniting the people of the world – against them!

3. R is for Resistance

“Even a tiny minority can bring down the mighty but clumsy colossus”, wrote Ernst Jünger in book which, although published 70 years ago, is extraordinarily relevant to what we are facing today.

Jünger was an unorthodox and controversial thinker, almost impossible to categorize.

This German WWI veteran and one-time nationalist hated Adolf Hitler, opposed the Nazi regime (his home was even raided by the Gestapo) and, after the Second World War, developed a unique anarchistic personal philosophy.

We can now see that he was decades ahead of his time in cutting across the rigid “left-right” divide which dominated 20th century political thought and is only now falling apart in the face of the Covid coup.

In his 1951 book The Forest Passage, Jünger describes the kind of person we have to become, the inner strength and conviction we have to be able to discover, in order to resist tyranny and to inspire others around us to reclaim their freedom.

He explains that the term “forest passage” is a traditional one – describing what a man went through when banished from his community and “declared his will to self-affirmation from his own resources” (1) – which he uses as the broad basis for his own concept.

Russell A. Berman writes: “Ernst Jünger’s The Forest Passage is a call for resistance. It maps a strategy of opposition to oppressive power. Undertaking the forest passage means entering an anarchic realm beyond the control of the seemingly omnipotent state, while setting oneself apart from the masses who sheepishly obey the rulers’ commands. The few who can tap the inner strength to fight back become ‘forest rebels’, partisans pursuing freedom against unconstrained power”. (2)

Thomas Friese adds: “The salvation that may be found ‘in the forest’ is understood, above all, as the preservation, or recovery, of the individual’s freedom, psychological and concrete, in the face of materially superior forces intent on imprisoning him – by violence, intimidation, or propaganda – and exploiting or destroying him for their own gain. This individual return to a primal relation with freedom in the midst of collective slavery Jünger calls the forest passage”. (3)

Freedom is central to Jünger’s vision, as he sets out. “This new freedom is the old freedom, is absolute freedom cloaked in the new garments of the times. To lead it to victory, again and again, despite all the wiles of the zeitgeist: this is the meaning of the historical world”. (4)

Informed by his painful personal experience of Nazi Germany, he is admirably clear in his description of the brutal violence always deployed or threatened by the system – a violence which has today suddenly become visible to hundreds of millions of people across the world with the launch of the Great Reset coup.

“The irrevocable dictates of the machine – be it the machinery of warfare or the machinery of politics – spread terror and fear”, notes Berman. “If one dares to stand out from the crowd, one risks punishment by the states’ henchmen, gangsters in or out of uniform”. (5)

As well as “terroristic force” and “systematic propaganda”, he adds, the system also relies on “the peer pressure of conformism”. (6)

Jünger is scathing in his description of the “gullibility of modern man” in which loss of real faith is lethally combined with a misplaced faith in contemporary power: “He believes what he reads in the newspaper but not what is written in the stars”. (7)

He adds: “The need to hear the news several times a day is already a sign of fear; the imagination grows and paralyzes itself in a rising vortex. The myriad antennae rising above our megacities resemble hairs standing on end – they provoke demonic contacts”. (8)

For Jünger this state of subjugation goes hand in hand with the pampered passivity of modern existence: “Every comfort must be paid for. The condition of the domesticated animal drags behind it that of the slaughterhouse animal”. (9)

With what now appears to be uncanny prescience, he warns of the way in which rulers always try to dehumanise and control the common man: “In all epochs there will be powers that seek to force a mask on him, at times totemic powers, at times magical or technical ones. Rigidity then increases, and with it fear”. (10)

The kind of total resistance demanded by Jünger is therefore, says Friese, “not a realistic option for the masses, for it presupposes a great inner distancing from society, an extraordinary strength of will, and uncommon courage”. (11)

The forest rebel, writes Berman, needs “a personal integrity that draws on the deep well-springs of human freedom, self-respect, and tradition”. (12)

He says: “The rebel maintains an uncompromising integrity, drawing on personal strength and the power of faith, to resist the brutality of the regime”. (13)

Jünger declares: “Two characteristics are thus essential for the forest rebel: he allows no superior power to dictate the law to him, neither through propaganda nor force; and he means to defend himself, not only by exploiting the instruments and ideas of the times, but also by maintaining access to those time-transcending powers that can never be reduced to pure movement. Then he can risk the passage”. (14)

The scale of the task in hand is never underestimated by Jünger. “It is not a question of prevailing over the phenomenon here or there, but rather of getting time itself under control. This requires sovereignty – and this will be found less in the great resolutions than in the individual who has renounced his inner fear”. (15)

But he points out that our inherited wisdom shows we do not necessarily have to be “a prince or a Hercules” to make dictatorships “sink into the dust”. He says that the “the free man brings them down” and “a stone from a shepherd’s sling, a flag raised by a virgin, and a crossbow have already proven sufficient”. (16)

Standing up against overwhelming full-spectrum power, without the solidarity of those around you, is not easy, as many of us have discovered since March 2020.

Jünger writes: “The resistance of the forest rebel is absolute: he knows no neutrality, no pardon, no fortress confinement. He does not expect the enemy to listen to arguments, let alone act chivalrously. He knows that the death penalty will not be waived for him. The forest rebel comes to learn a new solitude, the kind of solitude that above all the satanically growing malevolence brings with it; its connection with science and mechanics, though this may not represent a new element, does introduce new phenomena into history”. (17)

But the individual integrity and strength which the rebel has to find within himself do not point to any self-centred motivation in terms of outcome, he insists.

“Admittedly, asserting one’s freedom today has become especially difficult. Resistance demands great sacrifice, which explains why the majority prefer to accept the coercion. Yet genuine history can only be made by the free; history is the stamp that the free person gives to destiny. In this sense, he can naturally act in a representative manner; his sacrifice will count for the others too”. (18)

The source of the rebel’s guidance and motivation comes from beyond the purely personal, from something far more profound and timeless, says Jünger.

“He has no need of theories or of laws concocted by some party jurist to know what is right. He descends to the very springs of morality, where the waters are not yet divided and directed into institutional channels. Matters become simple here – assuming something uncorrupted still lives in him. We already saw that the great experience of the forest is the encounter with one’s own Self, with one’s invulnerable core, with the being that sustains and feeds the individual phenomenon in time. This meeting, which aids so powerfully in both returning to health and banishing fear, is also of highest importance in a moral sense. It conducts us to that strata which underlies all social life and has been common to all since the origins”. (19)

Behind his rebellion against the deathly machineries of power is nothing other than “a tremendous life force” which “inhabits all things and places” and “is concealed in every individual, entrusted to him in a code, so that he might understand himself, in his deepest supra-individual power” (20) – “his own divine power”. (21)

“In the forest passage there is a meeting of man with himself in his undivided and indestructible substance. This meeting banishes the fear of death”. (22)

“No one is easier to terrorize than the person who believes that everything is over when his fleeting phenomenon is extinguished. The new slaveholders have realized this, and this explains the importance for them of materialistic theories…” (23) explains Jünger.

A rebel who has broken out of the system’s mind-prison and passed beyond the fear of individual extinction becomes a formidable enemy.

“To overcome the fear of death is at once to overcome every other terror, for they all have meaning only in relation to this fundamental problem. The forest passage is, therefore, above all a passage through death. The path leads to the brink of death itself – indeed, if necessary, it passes through it”. (24)

Resistance cannot be successfully fought on the flattened-out terrain of modern pseudo-thinking to which the system wants to confine us and needs to express itself on a higher plane, such as that brought by poets who, says Jünger, “initiate the overthrow, even that of titans”. (25)

He also writes of the need for “signs” and “pictography” to inspire whole-hearted uprising against tyranny, such as the use of a single letter, perhaps an R. “This could indicate: Reflect, Reject, React, Rearm, Resist. It could also mean: Rebel. This would be the first step out of a world of statistical surveillance and control”. (26)

Throughout The Forest Passage, Jünger stresses the severity of the challenge involved in becoming a person who can embody the historical revolt against tyranny and its reassertion of primal freedom.

But he never indulges in that world-weary pessimism and defeatism which is, in truth, merely a disguised way of bowing down to oppression.

For instance, he follows up his comment on the mask which the powers try to force upon us by reminding us that “since time immemorial, the spectacle also repeats of man removing the mask, and the happiness that follows is a reflection of the light of freedom”. (27)

The fact that rebels are a small minority does not mean they cannot prevail, he stresses: “Even a tiny group of truly resolved individuals can be dangerous”. (28)

“Familiarizing those in danger with the idea that resistance is even possible is already enormously important – once that has been understood, even a tiny minority can bring down the mighty but clumsy colossus”. (29)

And while the majority of people may not have the inner strength and integrity to take the path of the lonely forest rebel, this does not mean that they will never turn, en masse, on their oppressors.

Writes Jünger: “There are wolves hiding in the gray flock – that is, characters who still know what freedom is. Moreover, these wolves are not only strong in themselves; there is also the danger that one fine morning they will transmit their characteristics to the masses, so that the flock turns into a pack. This is a ruler’s nightmare”. (30)

4. Our Land Our Nature: The Marseilles Manifesto

Participants in the world’s first Congress to decolonize conservation have published a manifesto calling for a total halt to new Protected Areas which exclude Indigenous and local communities.

The “Marseilles Manifesto: a people’s manifesto for the future of conservation” was released by many Indigenous and non-Indigenous activists and experts who gathered for September’s ground-breaking “Our Land Our Nature” congress.

They also demand:

– that governments “fully respect, protect and uphold Indigenous peoples’ land and forest rights, respect collective customary land and forest use by local communities, to ensure protection of that land in accordance with their wishes” as the primary means of protecting the world’s biodiversity

– “Governments and conservation organisations must acknowledge the huge toll that strictly protected conservation areas have taken on the lands, livelihoods and rights of many communities worldwide; they must make concrete plans for reparations of past wrongs, including through transferring control back to the historical and local guardians”

– “High income countries… must cease funding conservation programmes which destroy local people and livelihoods, including by failures of FPIC, irrespective of whether this is intentional or not.”

The manifesto calls for “a conservation model that fights against the real causes of environmental destruction and is prepared to tackle those most responsible: overconsumption and exploitation of resources led by the Global North and its corporations.”

The demand for a radical change to the current model of conservation has grown louder in recent months. The UN’s Special Rapporteur on Human Rights and the Environment released a strongly-worded policy brief in August, arguing that achieving environmental goals “demands a dramatic departure from ‘conservation as usual’.” His brief calls instead for a radically different, rights-based approach.

Many organizations and institutions, however, claim to endorse these calls while simultaneously promoting aggressive “fortress conservation” projects. The European Commission, for example, talks in its Biodiversity Strategy of “strengthen[ing] the links between biodiversity protection and human rights … and the role of indigenous peoples and local communities” – but continues to fund conservation projects in Africa that exclude them.

Likewise, 150 NGOs recently published an open letter calling on world leaders to put human rights at the centre of environmental policy – but the group included WWF, whose “secret war” of funding “vicious paramilitary forces” has been the subject of multiple media exposés and human rights investigations.

Fiore Longo, head of Survival’s Decolonize Conservation campaign, said today: “Most governments and NGOs these days are good at producing nice-sounding rhetoric about respecting Indigenous rights. But the same people are promoting a massive drive to create new Protected Areas on Indigenous lands as part of the 30×30 plan that constitutes the biggest land grab in world history.

“We can see the same pretence in calls for Nature-Based Solutions to climate change. These are really just a new spin on what used to be called carbon offsets. They’ll allow Indigenous lands to be bought and sold, in order to permit the world’s most polluting companies to carry on polluting.

“Only the full recognition of Indigenous peoples’ land ownership rights will prevent them from continuing to be the sacrificial victims of fortress conservation and Nature-Based Solutions. It’s also a key step in addressing the biodiversity and climate change crises.”

5. Cory Morningstar: an organic radical inspiration

The latest in our series of profiles from the orgrad website.

“We are embarking on an inescapable and irreversible technological enslavement”

Cory Morningstar is a contemporary, independent, investigative journalist and writer.

A key figure in exposing the corporate networks behind the “climate movement” and the associated Great Reset, she has been described as “almost certainly the most important living journalist in the world (next to Assange perhaps)”. (1)

Morningstar’s forensic skills in detailing corporate manipulation and deceit are combined with a powerful pro-nature, anti-imperialist and feminist philosophy.

She has condemned the “depraved ideology” behind a mercantile world which “never has espoused nor never will espouse a higher regard for humanity than for profits”. (2)

And she warned in November 2020: “We are embarking on an inescapable and irreversible technological enslavement… This we know: the planet will not be saved by those that have destroyed it”. (3)

Her criticism of the faux-green corporate realm comes from a radical environmental position, which breaks the taboo around questioning the myth of technological “progress”.

Describing the way that mobile phones are being used to establish a dictatorial control grid, she pointed out: “Humans have survived successfully for millennia without mobiles. All we require for our survival is healthy food, clean water, clean sanitation, and shelter. And as social animals, we seek physical community, companionship, joy, and love”. (4)

Morningstar was the first journalist to ask questions about the role of the White Helmets in Syria, before turning to explore the business networks promoting “climate action” to further their own financial interests.

Her articles on the latter subject have been published as a book, The Manufacturing of Greta Thunberg. (5)

Morningstar described this work as being about “the climate wealth opportunity of unprecedented growth, profits, and the measures our elite classes will take in order to achieve it – including the exploitation of the youth”.

She added: “What is never discussed in regard to the so-called ‘clean energy revolution’ is that its existence is wholly dependent on ‘green’ imperialism – the latter term being synonymous with blood”. (6)

Morningstar often refers in her writing to “the non-profit industrial complex”, which she describes as functioning like an army, “one of the largest armies on Earth”, in its war on humanity and nature.

She explained: “Engineered consent is obtained by creating a manufactured zeitgeist – a mass saturation of key messages, language, framing waged on the citizenry. Conformity is used as a powerful weapon against us”. (7)

On January 17, 2019, in Act I of ‘The Manufacturing of Greta Thunberg – for Consent: The Political Economy of the Non-Profit Industrial Complex’, Morningstar explained the marketing behind the Greta Thunberg phenomenon.

She wrote: “What is going on – is a rebooting of a stagnant capitalist economy, that needs new markets – new growth – in order to save itself.

“What is being created is a mechanism to unlock approximately 90 trillion dollars for new investments and infrastructure.

“What is going on is the creation of, and investment in, perhaps the biggest behavioural change experiment yet attempted, global in scale.

“And what are the deciding factors in what behaviours global society should adhere to? And more importantly, who decides? This is a rhetorical question as we know full well the answer: the same Western white male saviours and the capitalist economic system they have implemented globally that has been the cause of our planetary ecological nightmare.

“This crisis continues unabated as they appoint themselves (yet again) as the saviours for all humanity – a recurring problem for centuries”. (8)

Later that month, in this same series, Morningstar again observed that “capitalism is in danger of falling apart”. (9)

On February 3, 2019, she warned that what was not stated, yet understood, was the fact that “the climate can also be exploited, to salvage the global economy. In essence, to save capitalism”. (10)

In the same series of articles, Morningstar discussed how the non-profit industrial complex would serve as an instrumental vehicle to propel the Green New Deal as the catalyst to unlock the 100 trillion dollars required to unleash the “fourth industrial revolution” sought by the World Economic Forum et al.

She cautioned that “this project, of unparalleled magnitude, is the vehicle to save the failing global capitalist economic system and bring in the financialization of nature”. (11)

Her warnings were amply confirmed by events in 2020 as this same corporate agenda was dramatically accelerated via the Covid-branded “Great Reset”.

Morningstar wrote in April 2020: “Covid19 is the conduit to the Fourth Industrial Revolution now in full motion. As people come to terms with what is being forced upon humanity, we will soon regret that we did not unite to oppose to draconian lockdowns and expanding surveillance that will serve to protect/insulate ruling classes from revolt”. In November 2020, she wrote: “Promises for a just transition, green deals, new deals, build back better schemes, are nothing but empty, hollow assurances, void of intent. These are the lies they tell. Promises and assertions that are nothing more than alibis.

“While ‘corona’ serves to distract a global populace, a virus Klaus Schwab describes as ‘mild’ in his book COVID-19 The Great Reset, one thing is clear – billionaires are the most dangerous virus of all.” (13)

Morningstar’s concentration on the effects of the industrialized capitalist economic system stem from past travel in developing, war-torn countries – and from her life partner, an Algonquin Indian, with whom she shares children.

She has spoken about gathering knowledge from the farmers who built the coffee fincas/co-operatives in Mirafloras, and Estelí, Nicaragua; gathering knowledge from the families confined to the sugar bateyes of the Dominican Republic who are trapped in very real modern day slavery; and gathering knowledge and inspiration observing the prowess of the children who live on the streets Siem Reap in Cambodia. With her children in tow, she last visited anti-imperialist Bolivia in April of 2010, where she contributed to the People’s Agreement written in Cochabamba.
